“It seems to me, from what I understand from doctors, that’s really rare,” Mr. Akin said of pregnancies from rape. “If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down. But let’s assume that maybe that didn’t work or something: I think there should be some punishment, but the punishment ought to be of the rapist, and not attacking the child.” This gold nugget from Republican Senate Nominee Todd Akin.
Where do I begin??!!! A few questions:
What exactly is a "legitimate rape"? and secondly, How did all these anti- abortion politicians manage to have less than a handful of children? Do their wives know some kind of song and dance ritual that facilitate their female body's "ways to try to shut that whole thing down" without the use contraception? If so they should inform the rest of us because of most of our grand parents had children in the double digits...
